Take Me With You Quilts
Created as 40th birthday gifts for my daughters this hand tied crazy quilt is meant to be used for picnics, backyard fun, around the campfire or wherever family fun is happening. Designed with denim as the feature fabric it includes a variety of denims as well as denim pockets. Each square includes at least one type of denim. Designed in the spirit of a heritage crazy quilt some of the complementary fabrics include a tapestry animal from Oma’s African vest and lace from Oma’s lace collar. Look for teddy bears (essential for all picnics), a variety of flowers, a bit of Canadiana, a hint of favorite Parisian adventures and Coastal Lighthouses. Embellishments include lace, ribbon and machine stitching as well as the traditional spider and web for luck. Focus colour is blue but no colour is left out. Silver and gold has meaning in our family traditions. Hand tied with cotton crochet cord on 100% cotton “Denim Patches” by Whistler Studios.
