Original Grace Quilting Frame

Bought this pre enjoyed Original Grace Quilting Frame in January of 2022. The original owner purchased it in December 2007 along with the Grace Stitch Regulator and wood templates. Papa assembled the frame, helped make all the necessary adjustments and encouraged me as I delved into this foreign world of quilting on a frame with Oma's Janome Memory Craft 3500. Step 1-Roll top of quilt onto middle rail with right side up and rolled under. Take pole off quilt frame and set aside. Step 2- Roll backing of quilt onto back rail with right side down and rolled over. Step 3 -Pin the backing and batting onto the front rail. Pinned the backing and batting onto the front roller. Step 4 - Replace middle rail with quilt top and pin to front rail. Pinned the quilt top on the front roller. This shows the direction of the rolls onto the two back rollers. I'm beginning to explore hand quilting techniques and was thrilled to be able to modify my Original Grace Quilting Frame for hand quilting. (March 2024)

Reegan's Book Sleeve

Reegan brought a Book Sleeve Pattern as a fun quilting project to create for Spring Break 2024 while spending the week chez Grandmaman et Grandpa. Reegan found some fabric from the Tula Pink Cotton Fabric "Free Spirit Curiouser & Curiouser" with an Alice in Wonderland theme in Grandmaman's scrap box. Then she scoped out a perfect solid to complement the print. Reegan decided on a postage stamp pattern and cut her squares to 2 1/2 inches. Reegan machine quilted a two layer quilt sandwich with a variegated thread using the walking foot technique. She designed a diagonal pattern, pulled the bobbin thread to the top and buried the threads using a self threading needle. The quilting was done through two layers as the lining needed to be separate for the book sleeve pattern. This is the perfect project for a book lover! Bravo Reegan!
