The Gandigow Library Quilt
is featured in "Kilt in Scotland" Book #8 of
Kilts & Quilts series written by Patience Griffin.
The quilt pattern was designed by Patience Griffin.
Grandmaman chose the fabric with green, one of
Sadie's favorite colours, in mind.
The book theme of the quilt seemed fitting as
Sadie is a book lover
and an avid library volunteer.
The Scottish theme seemed fitting as one of Sadie's great-great grandmothers was born in Scotland.
The quilting pattern was created on the
Original Grace Quilting Frame using the pattern board that most resembled book spines.
Fabrics for the books, appliqués, bookshelf,
background and binding were selected during the Summer Shop Hop while visiting
Quilt Shops throughout Central Alberta.
Fabrics were chosen with green as the main colour, some plaids for Scottish interest, fabrics with words and colours that complemented the greens.
