Tristan's quilt was inspired by his passion to create ambience and atmosphere with his talent in cuisine. The main colours of navy blue and white were inspired by the memory of his fav quilt and curtains in his Mount Royal childhood bedroom.
Three feature fabrics of Petal Signature Cotton ordered from Spoonflower were:
Dark Blue Master Chef
Blue Grey Patisserie
Wandering Around a French Market
Three blending fabrics with a focus on navy blue and white:
Kona Solid -Navy
Dovetail by Figo-Dashes
Dear Stella-Moonscape Basic-Peacoat
The pattern used was "Pathway Throw" by Lorna Shapiro.
Fireside True Navy was used for the backing.
I attached an emblem to the bottom right corner of Tristan's alma mater, the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, which is known as Canada's Premier Culinary School.
Quilting was done on the new longarm using the channel locks to create horizontal lines. I interspersed the words L'art du chef randomly throughout the quilt.
